戴尔豪西大学预科学习要求

　　Study English for university, at university

　　If your test scores are lower than our stated minimum but you otherwise meet admission requirements, you may be offered conditional admission provided you complete an ESL program. You have two options for language upgrading. The first is offered through the College of Continuing Education at Dalhousie University.

　　Option 1: The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is offered at 3 levels: Foundation English, EAP 1 and EAP 2. Minimum entrance test scores depend on the course level and range between 3.5 – 6.0 IELTS / 30 – 84 TOEFL iBT. Placement testing can be done at Dalhousie. Courses range from 2 – 3 months up to 1 year. Each level includes speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation and vocabulary development.

　　Successful completion of EAP Level 2 with a 3.0 GPA for undergraduate programs and 3.7 GPA for most grauduate programs meets the English proficiency requirements at Dalhousie University.

　　Option 2: Students may choose to study English full time at one of our partner ESL schools. Once a student reaches the top-level class, he or she is allowed to register in part-time study at Dal – as long as he or she completes the ESL program.

　　如果除了英语成绩，其他部分都满足了申请条件，那么申请人可以选择完成ESL课程，这样就可以被录取。申请人提高英语成绩的方案有两个：

　　选择一：完成戴尔豪西大学的继续教育课程

　　这个课程分为三个阶段：基础英语、EAP 1和EAP 2。最低的申请条件取决于申请人所报专业的难度和范围，一般雅思成绩要求在3.5~6.0分，新托福成绩要求在30~84。分级考试在戴尔豪西大学内按成。课程最短时间2~3个月，最长1年。每个阶段都需要学习听说读写、发音和词汇积累。

　　如果申请人拿到了EAP 二级的成绩，并且GPA是3.0及以上就可以申请戴尔豪西大学的本科课程;或者EAP 二级、GPA是3.7及以上就可以申请戴尔豪西大学的硕士研究生课程。

　　选择二：完成戴尔豪西大学合作院校的全职英语课程

　　如果申请人达到了戴尔豪西大学合作伙伴的全职英语课程的高级水平，那么他/她可以注册戴尔豪西大学的业余课程学习。

　　No more IELTS or TOEFL exams

　　When you complete an ESL program at Dalhousie, you may be able to enter your bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate program at Dalhousie without having to re-write an exam like the IELTS or TOEFL.
